Ok. Getting this ship flying right. Sailing right. Something. Who’s at the helm? Hey, watch out for that side of the mountain!
Classes are done, I graduated with my diploma in goldsmithing, I’ve recovered from the pregnancy of hell and the summer travel to Vegas and to the grandparents is done.
And what of the writing?
I am finishing “Winterblood” which is Isabel’s tale and the somewhat untitled second novel and creating notes on characters and the next rounds of books. Wrangling cover art. Editing. I suspect typos actually breed overnight and I despair.
We have a booth at Word on the Street in Toronto. We are in talks with another book fair event in november.
Winterblood will be in ebook and print darn soon. Like 2 weeks.
We are also nudging along another writer, because I’d like to grow our wee “small press” imprint.
And raising a small lad. And working on jewelery work. Don’t even ask me how it gets done. Coffee, and multitasking and a kitchen that is somewhat of a disaster and you just get it done.
Oh, and I’m toying with the idea of finding a literary agent, just to test the waters, but if it doesn’t happen I’m not overly stressed about it.
And people are asking “when’s the next book” which is cool, compared to “Please, stop writing.”
So I keep writing. And I love when people read it. And I actually sort of love it when they hop online at 1 am to message me and tell me how much they enjoyed it. Because you stayed up till 1 am to finish a book.
That’s kinda cool.
